About One Vibe Africa :
After holding over 30 authentic African dinners since 2016 with chefs for each dinner coming from over 30 countries in Africa, OVA has attracted over 600 attendees who have literally turned into family. One Vibe African Dinner Experiences were first held at Cafe Avole in 2016 .
OVA hopes to take these amazing dinners to other locations, especially historic spaces like Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute where they galvanize community around sumptuous meals.
The One Vibe African Dinner Experiences is an opportunity for community members to gain deeper exposure and insights to the culture, food, and topics that come from and inform Africa and the African diaspora.
With the recent effects of COVID, many people are eager to get out and connect with others. People were disconnected from connecting with others.Their mental health was challenged as a result.
The entertainers of the night were OVA's founder and musician , Simon Okelo with the Nyatiti serenade , Bob Antolin of Comfort Food Band and Comedian Fresh Prince Of Africa from The Kicheko Project.
.The event was hosted at the Kezira Ethiopian restaurant based here in Seattle Washington .
This dinner series was made possible by the Seattle Foundation through their Neighbor To Neighbor grant.
